Description

Selling my reliable, roomy and wonderful Skipper. It has gotten me through my PPL and given me hours of enjoyment. Time to move up to the next plane so making this available for sale. The Skipper is a very comfortable two place trainer. The cockpit is wider than the 172 & Piper which makes it a great trainer. True to the Beechcraft legacy, it is overbuilt and very solid. As a result, it is heavier than it's contemporaries and therefore has the slightly stronger 115hp engine.

Plane is regularly flown and has been a midwest based airplane for most of its life. If you are in the market for a 150/152 or Tomahawk, the Skipper is the plane for you! It is better built, and much more comfortable on the inside with that wide cabin. The Skipper trims out very easily (has rudder trim too) and is truly great for training maneuvers, pattern practice and is a great little cross country time builder that is fun to fly and comfortable to sit in for hours at a time. Also, it has a 2400 hour TBO!

If you want to learn more about the Skipper I would suggest checking out this post: https://www.flyingmag.com/the-increasingly-rare-pleasure-of-the-beechcraft-skipper/

Avionics

Directional Gyro/Heading Indicator doesn't turn easily (though it will turn). Due to this I use, and am including, a Dynon D3 to use as a backup for attitude, heading, slip/skid.

MX 170c Comm/Nav

Bendix King KT-76a Transponder

Airframe

Airframe in good shape. Paint is adequate but not great. Definitely a trainer plane and not going to win best of show.

New AeroLed nav/strobe lights & AeroLed landing light just installed.

Has uAvionix tailbeacon ADSB-out

Gross Weight = 1675
Empty Weight = 1154
Useful Load = 521

Engines / Mods

Lycoming o-230 with 1935 hours. Flown regularly so hours will change.

Engine has 2400 TBO. I would recommend watching these videos for anyone near manufacturer suggested TBO: https://youtu.be/rGdCVoGibXE?si=wC-x2iW62cD1f7sQ and https://youtu.be/NQViR19k7Bs?si=AlpxZ_lfAH9ACYAd

Interior is in very good shape. Not fancy but nice and comfortable.

Sheepskin seat covers for the seats.

Good glass.

Remarks

I am very sorry to see this plane move on to a new owner because I have loved flying it so much. It has been a joy and a pleasure to fly. Once you get used to the different site picture on landings you wil find that almost all of them are smooth.

Logbooks are complete.

Also included are 4 volumes of maintenance manuals for the Skipper. These are incredible documents to be able to troubleshoot and to give to your A&P.
