Description

As we are "Snowbirds" living in Northern Illinois - for 6 months, and Florida - for 6 months, moving my Zenith from Illinois to Florida, back and forth is a SLOW process as my ZENITH STOL is not a fast airplane. It cruises at 85-90 MPH. I LOVE everything about this plane except the speed. I need a faster airplane that cruises 130-150 mph.

Avionics

Dynon HDX 10" Glass panel, Dynon Radio, ADS-B In & Out, Auto Pilot

Airframe

All metal. Built rugged for off-airport areas as well as hard surface and grass runways. Think of it as a tail-dragger, big tire airplane . . . but it actually is a big tire tricycle airplane, no zig-zagging on the taxiways to see where you are going.

Engines / Mods

UL Power 350 IS. (130 HP, 4 stroke, Electronic Ignition). Incredible engine!!!

Interior / Exterior

Grey scheme interior, carpeted, large storage area, cabin heat. Custom tinted roof panel for light and reduction of solar gain. VG'S. The painting of my bird was custom-designed and cost over $15,000. No shortcuts were taken during the built process . . . and it shows the attention to detail throughout the airplane. If you have NOT had a GLASS PANEL (Avionics) before, once you experience a GLASS PANEL you will never accept anything short of this new state-of-the-art technology.

Remarks

I turned 77 this year and I am going to be ordering a more docile airplane once this is sold. The take-off and landing characteristics of this plane are nothing short of INCREDIBLE. 100' for take-off and 150' for landing. The doors allow an awesome view down as if you are going to fall out of the plane, but you are well secured by the seat belt/harness and double latches on the doors. I love this airplane, but I recognize that in time my reflexes may start to slow a bit, so now is the time to look for a different airplane, more suitable for me . . . at my age. This is a ROCKET of an airplane for take-off because it is a STOL (Short Take Off Landing) designed and built ROCKET (I mean AIRPLANE). Due to a prop strike (October 2022), the engine was removed, completely overhauled/rebuilt, and re-installed by an A & P (all documented in the log books), brand new Sensenich prop, new nose gear, and more. All work is certified and entered into the log books.
