Description

Classic Jet Trainer with airworthiness and Rich History ( technical data: see attached file PDF )
Fifteen years ago, the first jet L-29 "Delfin" piloted by Sergey Filatov took off from the "Korotich" airfield (Kharkiv, Ukraine). Over time, Filatov became the leading pilot of the aerobatic group, which expanded to a four-plane formation. Today, the group on L-29s has undergone several transformations and remains the only active aerobatic team on jet aircraft in Ukraine.
The group formation date is considered when Sergey Filatov first flew his L-29 aircraft on September 3rd, 2005. While performing the highest aerobatics on his aircraft, the former military pilot decided to add splendor to these flights and develop his passion into a large-scale aviation project. He gradually began to assemble the equipment and team. Soon, flights began with a pair, a trio, and a quartet.
The Kharkiv Aero Club aerobatic group comprises three Aero L-29 aircraft.
The leading pilot of the aerobatic group is a former military pilot, Chief of the Kharkiv Aero Club, and instructor pilot Sergey Filatov. His team has his closest partner, instructor pilot and retired military pilot Sergey Komin, and an experienced instructor pilot and former military pilot Anatoly Bernatovich. All three are graduates of the Kharkiv Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots.
In 2016, the piston sport plane Su-31 piloted by Alexey Agievich, joined the aerobatic group with its three L-29 jet planes. It complements the performances and fills the pauses in the air during the "aircraft" height gain maneuvers.
The Kharkiv Aero Club aerobatic group performs training flights during aviation events in various country cities. All aerobatics are performed at a minimum altitude of 150 m at the lowest point to 1500 m at the highest point. The maximum speed during aerobatics is 650 km/h. Overloads can reach up to 8 units.
Among the events during which the Kharkiv Aero Club pilots demonstrated their highest aerobatics and group flying skills were the Aviasvit-XXI airshow (2006-2012), Navy Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Odesa, the international Big Way Camp in Kharkiv, the annual KharkivAviaFest and "Free Sky" festivals in Dnipro, Days of the Kharkiv Aviation Institute, Days of the cities of Chuguev, Lyubotyn, Pesochin, the 80th anniversary of the Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant, and other aviation events.
